Go inside, around and under the hood of the Sony HVR-Z1U with Jesse Rosen, Director of Technical Development at Abel Cine Tech. With a combination of deep technical knowledge and real world production experience, Jesse explains concepts such as the HDV format, frame rates, timecode, post production, workflows, optimizing the camera for different shooting environments, camera settings and operational features.
Jesse Rosen began studying computer science
prior to studying film at NYU. He started his career
as an editor and then migrated
toward cinematography.
Jesse has served as Director of Photography
on a number of
documentaries and dramatic films including
the critically
acclaimed, award-winning film "Trans",
which was selected for the
Toronto, Sundance and Berlin film festivals.
He also has served as
a video engineer on various projects, including
the Beastie Boys'
music video "Right, Right, Now, Now" and
Martin Scorsese's
"Lightning in a Bottle".
Jesse is currently the Director of Technical
Development at Abel
Cine Tech, with his main concentration
on film, DV and HD
production workflows and the research and
development of new and
emerging imaging technologies.
